Federal regulators introduced a recall of practically 50,000 Volkswagen Jetta autos within the U.S. over an engine hearth danger brought on by a free wire after experiences from a number of homeowners of melted wires and fires.

“The transmission floor wire could not have been correctly related throughout meeting, inflicting an open electrical circuit,” the recall acknowledged.
“An open circuit could enhance the chance of extreme present draw, presumably growing the chance of a hearth.”

Volkswagen reported no less than six claims throughout the U.S. and Canada, with three incidents involving melted wires and connectors and the opposite three leading to engine compartment fires.
