Richard Branson introduced on Tuesday that Joan Templeman, his spouse of fifty years, has died. She was 80 years previous.
Branson shared the information on his Instagram account, writing that he was “heartbroken.”
“She was my finest buddy, my rock, my guiding mild, my world,” he wrote.
The billionaire entrepreneur, who based the Virgin Group, added that Joan was “essentially the most fantastic mum and grandmum our children and grandkids may have ever wished for.”

Branson first met Joan in 1976 on the Virgin Information studio. He would later recall experiencing “love at first sight” when he first noticed the “down-to-earth Scottish magnificence who simply occurred to be making a cup of tea,” in accordance with the London Night Commonplace.
Branson would incessantly pay tribute to Joan, who celebrated her eightieth birthday in July, as a grounding power in his life.
